I am the vice president of The Iron Maidens WI - a branch of the Women’s Institute. When my ladies found out I was through to the final of this pageant, of course they wanted to come to London to support me and celebrate the beauty of size.
There’s a problem though, cash. We don’t have enough of it.
I have set up a page on indiegogo where we are taking donations.
When you support us, you are not just supporting the WI, but also Macmillan Cancer Support who will receive a percentage of the ticket price. In addition, you are supporting the plus size acceptance movement as a whole. This pageant is not about lining the pockets of the organisers, it is about showing the world that regardless of shape or size we can wear/do/be whatever we choose. It is about creating a future for our sons and daughters where ‘fat’ is not a dirty word to be hurled in insult. A future where a person is respected based on factors far beyond appearance and silhouette.
Please consider supporting us on this, large donations are just as appreciated as small - let’s make the same apply to people.
